The next Jazz Mentors Student Jam is coming up on Thursday, January 16, 5-7 PM in the Local 802 Clubroom. Join us for a musical performance and mentoring session designed to connect younger musicians with some of New York City’s premier jazz artists to learn the basics of jazz improvisation, musical collaboration, proper technique, scat singing, ensemble playing, bandstand etiquette, and many other skills essential to a career as a jazz performer. This jam is hosted by the Jazz Mentors Band, led by Henry Conerway III. Free and open to jazz students ages 15-22. RSVP here!
