Playing Together: Embracing Diversity and Inclusion in Music
Let’s face it, there is often still a noticeable lack of diversity in the pit, on-stage, and other performance spaces when it comes to music ensembles. That must change. The ability to collaborate, communicate, and create music with people of all backgrounds are essential skills to form a successful band. We’re not just side musicians; we’re a community of band members!
February 20th is World Day of Social Justice. Join our celebration of culture, diversity, inclusion, and unity. Participate in our icebreakers, engage in honest and open conversations, and listen to musicians’ inspirational stories. This is a safe, inclusive space for everyone regardless of ethnicity, race, color, religion or creed, national origin, alienage, citizenship or immigration status, age, gender or gender identity, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation or preference, military or veteran status, marital or partnership status, genetic predisposition or carrier status, any other protected status under applicable law, and of course, all music genres showcasing our musical diversity!
