Join the 802 Artist Rights Caucus for an open meeting on Mon, Apr 22, 5-7 PM at Local 802. All musicians that create or participate in the creation of recorded music of any and all genres are invited, especially music that is manufactured and/or distributed DIGITALLY!

AGENDA:

(1) Discussion of what section 512 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act is, and why we need to reform it by limiting this “safe harbor” that lets online corporations make billions from illegal uses of our work.

(2) Marc Ribot’s report on developments and coordination with our sister artist rights caucus ARC 47 (in Los Angeles).

(3) Ken Hatfield’s report from his participation in the USCO (United States Copyright Office) roundtable on reform of section 512 of the DMCA  in Washington, DC.
