I used to be a member of Local 802 and recently re-joined after taking a break. I came back to the union to enjoy the protections that Local 802 offers, and to stay up-to-date on how the music industry has changed. My musical goal in NYC is to create a working lane for electronic musicians. We are at the top of every music chart in the world but there’s no steady work for musicians in our genre. One of my favorite recent gigs was playing the Soundset Festival in Minnesota. I’m a hip-hop/alternative/underground producer and a rap artist, currently distributed by Sony Orchard. I live hip-hop music; it’s my culture, and it’s important to keep the culture protected and progressive. I’ve performed as a rapper with Ice-T and as a hypeman with Kool Keith. I’ve also been a music producer for 18 years. I’m a member of the classic 90s group Raw Breed. My main equipment is the MPC-2500 drum machine and the Minimoog keyboard series.
