Sideline Careers for the 21st Century
Volume C, No. 10October, 2000
The Actors’ Work Program will present a series of programs this fall on Sideline Careers for the 21st Century.
The series opens Oct. 11 with Career Night. Hear from your peers who have developed dignified sideline and second careers in such fields as: teaching/training, arts in education, fitness, massage therapy, computers, web design, real estate, and more.
The second program, Nov. 15, provides Tips for Temping. Discover the skills most marketable in the world of temporary and freelance project work. Hear from members who are finding flexibility and earnings ranging from $17 to $24 and more per hour in such areas as office support, financial pitch book production, graphic design and proofreading.
The first two programs will be held on Wedneday evenings, from 5:30 7 p.m., in the 14th floor Council Room at the Actors Equity Building, 1560 Broadway.
The final program in this series — How to Write a Winning Workshop Proposal — is set for Tuesday, Dec. 5, and will take place from 1 until 3 p.m. on the tenth floor of the Actors Fund of America, 729 Seventh Avenue. Create a workshop in your area of expertise. Learn the fundamental elements of writing a successful proposal for workshops, programs or training sessions that you would like to be hired to conduct.
