Linda Ronstadt Takes A Stand
Volume CIV, No. 7/8July, 2004
Linda Ronstadt was asked not to return to a gig at the Aladdin casino in Las Vegas after she made positive remarks about Michael Moore during a performance on July 17.
Before singing “Desperado” for an encore, the 58-year-old rocker called Moore a “great American patriot” and “someone who is spreading the truth.” She also encouraged everybody to see Moore’s movie “Fahrenheit 9/11.”
Aladdin President Bill Timmins sent Ronstadt packing, according to the Associated Press. Ronstadt had been booked to play the Aladdin for only one show.
