Joe Delia began working for Local 802 last October, as a representative in the Concert Department. He brings five years of experience in the labor movement. After graduating from the AFLCIO Organizing Institute in 1996, he spent the next year working with the United Food and Commercial Workers in Florida, UNITE! in Maine, the Building Trades in Las Vegas and the Teamsters in New England.

As an International Organizer with the Teamsters, he worked on organizing campaigns around the country for two years, and then as Business Agent with Teamster Local 311 in Baltimore, Md. Before joining the 802 staff, he was an International Organizer with AFSCME, working in Long Island, New York and Baltimore.

He graduated from Towson State University with a B.S. in History.
