DON’T FORGET TO PAY
Currently, members who are on the union’s Health Plan A must pay a quarterly fee. Checks are due Jan. 1, April 1, July 1, and Oct. 1. If you forget to mail in your check, you may lose your health coverage. For more information, call the Health Department at (212) 245-4802.
HEALTH INSURANCE NOTICE
If you use LS-1 or Music Service Agreements to obtain coverage through the Local 802 Health Benefits Plan, please note that the next filing deadline is Aug. 31 (for the period ending June 30). Contracts received after Aug. 31 will be ineligible for submission and be returned. If you have any questions, call the Health Benefits Department at (212) 245-4802.
New York’s primary election is Sept. 9, but you must be registered to vote by Aug. 15. If you’re not registered, Local 802 can help. Please call Paul Molloy, the union’s public relations and political action director, at (212) 245-4802, ext. 176 or e-mail him at Pmolloy@Local802afm.org. He can assist you with registering, finding your polling place, or other voting questions. Allegro will publish Local 802’s endorsements in the next issue.
WERE YOU A 9/11 VOLUNTEER?
If you aided in the rescue, recovery or cleanup efforts in the World Trade Center ruins, it is important that you register no later than Aug. 13 with the New York State Workers’ Comp Board. By registering, you will preserve your right to file a workers’ comp claim in case you get sick in the future. For information, visit www.nycosh.org or call (866) WTC-2556.
