Fair share for musicians
Volume 124, No. 2February, 2024
Writers and actors achieved major wins in their motion picture contract…now it’s our turn to fight for our fair share! AFM negotiations with the American Motion Picture and Television Producers began in Los Angeles near the end of January.
As musicians continue to demand a fair contract, entertainment unions are coming together in support. AFM members and supporters held a press conference and rally in front of the AMPTP headquarters in Sherman Oaks, California on the first day of negotiations. The show of solidarity was strong, with nearly 200 musicians, entertainment union members and representatives from the WGA, SAG-AFTRA, Teamsters, IATSE, UNITE HERE and more. We thank you all for the incredible support!
AFM President and Chief Negotiator Tino Gagliardi said: “Music is what gives our favorite movies and shows their soul, and these workers expect and deserve to be treated fairly and given the contract they’ve earned. We are going into these negotiations in good faith, and we hope the AMPTP is doing the same.”
Local 802 is asking our members to:
