Are you a photographer? Local 802 announces a photo contest with a top prize of $50 and publication in Allegro.

The winning photograph will be the one that best promotes live music.

The best photo will be chosen at the discretion of Local 802 whose decision is final.

The winner gets his or her photo published in Allegro and $50.

All photos submitted to the union become the property of Local 802, which may publish them in Allegro or elsewhere.

Either color or black and white is acceptable. Either film or digital photos are acceptable, but you must print out your photo on high-quality photo paper (or use a photo store) and submit it to the contest as a hard copy.

If you shoot digitally, make sure that your photo can eventually be reproduced as an 8×10 photo at 200 dpi or greater (this requires a minimum of a 4.0 megapixel camera shooting at the highest resolution).

One entry per person. Send a hard copy of your best photo (no digital files, disks or CD’s) to: Mikael Elsila, Allegro Photo Contest, 322 West 48th Street, New York, NY 10036.

All photos must arrive at Local 802 by April 30, 2004. Local 802 is not responsible for slow or missing mail. Winners to be announced by Aug. 31, 2004.

Entries will not be returned.
