Members of Actors Federal Credit Union can now pay for purchases directly from their AFCU checking account at over 15 million locations around the world, or withdraw cash at any one of more than 500,000 ATMs worldwide. All this has been made possible by the new ACTORCASH VISA Check Card, a project that has been under development for more than a year.

The new check card functions as a debit card, enabling members to pay for purchases directly out of their checking account, without the hassle of writing a paper check, wherever the VISA brand logo is displayed. It will also perform traditional ATM functions like cash withdrawals, deposits, balance inquiries and transfers. New York-based members may choose to utilize one of the twelve 100 percent fee-free AFCU ATMs located in Manhattan.

Perhaps the greatest advantage of this new addition to AFCU’s product line is that check card users will have the ability to access their account almost everywhere. And Vice-President of Operations Sandra Jager points out that “the VISA Check Card will eliminate the need for users to carry an ATM card and a checkbook. One card performs both functions. It’s like having your personal check accepted anywhere the VISA brand is honored. We are extremely excited to be able to offer this great convenience to credit union members, and members of the entertainment community.”

The card will feature a picture of a New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square. “Not only was it important that the card function properly, but we wanted something that our members would be proud to show off and use,” Jager said. “I think we have succeeded on both counts.”
