Subject Line- Local 802 ERF Ramps Up MAP Funding
Dear fellow 802 members,
First and foremost, we hope that all of our 802 members and their loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this time of crisis. The global impact of Covid-19 has been nothing less than catastrophic. With all live performances on indefinite hold and facing an uncertain future, Local 802 is dedicated to doing whatever we can to support our members through these tough times. It’s clear that we are in a fight for our survival.
To help our 802 community during this public health crisis, the Local 802 Musicians Emergency Relief Fund (the “ERF”) is donating a large block grant of $100,000, adding major funding to the 802 Musicians Assistance Program (“MAP”).
MAP is an important support program Local 802 started many years ago in partnership with the Actors Fund of America (“AFA”), which provides emergency financial assistance to 802 musicians in immediate financial need.
Local 802 members may click here to apply for financial assistance online today.
As always, AFA and MAP will continue to provide a full range of important services for members. Click here to view those offerings. Please note that the hardworking staff at AFA — the organization that administers your requests for assistance through MAP — is working around the clock to meet the needs of the entertainment community. As with everything else at this moment, your patience with the AFA application process will be needed and appreciated.

We have also just launched a brand-new Local 802 ERF website with a fresh design. On the site, you can check out an overview of services, apply for financial help, and donate to the fund.
Later this week, look for the launch of an exciting Local 802 ERF fundraising campaign called SONGS OF SUPPORT to help musicians in need during the Covid-19 crisis.
By supporting one another together as a union, we will we make it through this crisis. Please stay safe and reach out if you need anything.
In solidarity,
Local 802 Emergency Relief Fund Board
