Rebecca Cherry is a Musician of New York.
Rebecca is a freelance musician who wears many hats as a violinist, electric violinist, composer, arranger, writer, and actor. Throughout her career, she’s had the opportunity to do everything from performing in top orchestras to subbing on Broadway to writing music for film and TV to touring with popular music acts. She is the mother of a two-year-old daughter, and recently started a nonprofit, You R Me, that will provide community and mentoring for teenage girls in the creative arts with the aim to dissolve bullying, anxiety, and depression. When she’s not working, Rebecca is involved with yoga, fitness, and meditation. She is always inspired by the talented creatives she is surrounded with as a musician in New York.
“Life is very busy and every day is different. Some days I’m home practicing, emailing, phone calls, meetings. And then other days I’m out on the road touring, playing concerts, rehearsals. Or, it can be a mixture of both and sometimes there’s very little sleep. There are glamorous moments but nobody sees the 3 AMs and the traveling. When it’s really busy, it’s booming. When it’s quiet, it’s pretty quiet. But there’s a nice juxtaposition for me as a mom to be able to have some time with my daughter, and also be out being a musician and a creative.” #MusiciansofNY
