Shortly after the Orlando attack in June, Broadway artists came together to record a single of the classic song “What the World Needs Now is Love” by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Profits of the recording will benefit the LGBT Center of Central Florida. On these pages, Allegro photographer Walter Karling was granted access to the session, which took place at Avatar Studios. The project, called Broadway for Orlando, was produced by Seth Rudetsky, James Wesley and Van Dean, with Michael J. Moritz Jr. and Michael Croiter. Music direction was by Seth Rudetsky, Steve Marzullo and Marc Shaiman, orchestrations were by Cameron Moncur and vocal arrangements were by Seth Rudetsky and Michael McElroy.
